Chocolate Apple Pie with Cinnamon Flavor – Recipe

Ingredients

Pie:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 cups apple (grated)
  • 1 cup erythritol sweetener or sweetener of your choice (ccocnut sugar for Paleo options)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted) or coconut oil
  • 0.5 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or coconut milk or sour cream)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder or soda

Icing: 

  • 4 tablespoon almond milk( or coconut milk, or half & half cream)
  • 4 tablespoon erythritol
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoon butter (melted)

Note:

  • If you use heavy cream for icing, then you do not need butter.
  • For better taste, you can use chocolate instead of cinnamon. 1 bar will be enough.

Instructions how to make chocolate apple pie

  • Preheat oven to 360 F
  • In one bowl, beat egg with sweetener
  • Add almond milk, cinnamon, butter and mix well
  • Slightly add flour with constantly mixing
  • Add melted butter and baking powder. Mix well with an electric mixer
  • Add apples, and stir well with wooden spoon
  • Grease and flour 9 x 13 pan or you can use a parchment paper
  • Pour batter into baking pan
  • Bake in well-heated oven for about 25 minutes or until pie become slightly brown
  • In meanwhile prepare an icing
  • Heat the H&H cream in the pot. Add sweetener and cocoa. Remove from heat when it comes to boiling points
  • Pour hot icing over the baked, still worm pie
  • Set aside to cool and tighten
  • Cut and serve cooled
